About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Partner with strategic startup customers as a technical thought partner to build novel applications on the OpenAI API
- Guide customers from ideation to scale and maximize business impact
- Experiment and prototype alongside customers
- Contribute to open-source resources
- Share knowledge, codify best practices, and publish useful resources
- Synthesize and deliver feedback to Product and Research teams
- Build relationships within the startup ecosystem
- Serve as a technical partner to individual customers and the broader startup community
- Collaborate with Sales, Solutions Engineering, Applied Research, and Product teams
- Report to the Startups AI Deployment Lead
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of experience as a software engineer, ML engineer, or equivalent
- Experience in a startup environment ideally; founder or founding engineer experience highly valued
- Speak Spanish, English, and Portuguese
- Passion for startups and belief in their potential to become future large enterprises
- Proficiency in Python and JavaScript
- Strong grasp of AI/LLM best practices
- Experience building and/or delivering prototypes on the OpenAI API platform
- Ability to identify opportunities to maximize customer business value through the OpenAI API
- Ability to own problems end-to-end and acquire missing knowledge as needed
- Humble attitude and eagerness to help colleagues
- Ability to drive multiple concurrent projects and prioritize ruthlessly
- Authorization to work in the country where the job is located
- Ability to work from a local office three days per week
