About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Define key metrics and guardrails across checkout, payments, subscriptions, and pricing
Design experiments, staged rollouts, and offline incrementality studies
Improve conversion, payment performance, retention, and involuntary churn
Develop pricing, elasticity, FX, and localization frameworks
Partner with Data Engineering to build trusted datasets and operational monitoring
Turn complex analysis into recommendations shaping product and business decisions
Provide technical leadership and mentor other data scientists
Drive measurement, experimentation, and optimization for OpenAI’s monetization infrastructure

Requirements

What you’ll need

10+ years of experience in data science, experimentation, or product analytics
Experience with monetization, payments, checkout, subscriptions, or pricing
Advanced SQL and Python skills
Strong expertise in experimentation and causal inference
Track record of independently leading high-impact, cross-functional analytical work
Strong product judgment, communication skills, and ability to influence senior stakeholders
Ability to work from the US office three days per week
Authorization to work in the country where the job is located
Willingness to undergo applicable background checks
