Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead, coach, and grow a team of approximately 9–10 engineers
  • Create clarity, accountability, and a healthy execution rhythm
  • Own the engineering roadmap for Library
  • Partner with product and design to prioritize high-impact problems
  • Set standards for product quality, technical excellence, reliability, privacy, and user trust
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership through architecture reviews, prototyping, debugging, and coding
  • Build systems that allow AI products to persist, retrieve, and use personal and organizational context
  • Partner across Personalization, model, research, infrastructure, enterprise, and third-party integration teams
  • Navigate ambiguity and turn emerging AI capabilities into product and engineering plans
  • Hire exceptional engineers and develop technical leaders

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience managing and developing high-performing engineering teams while remaining technically hands-on
  • Strong software engineering foundation
  • Comfortable contributing production code in a modern codebase
  • Experience building and shipping user-facing products with a high quality bar
  • Founder, startup, or early-stage product experience is especially valuable
  • Ability to reason about distributed systems, data persistence, retrieval, permissions, collaboration, and AI-native architectures
  • Ability to communicate clearly across engineering, product, design, research, and executive stakeholders
  • Ability to balance long-term technical direction with near-term delivery
  • Ability to make pragmatic tradeoffs and know when to simplify, prototype, or invest for scale
  • Commitment to building useful, trustworthy, and intuitive AI products for individuals and organizations
