About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build and lead the Sourcing Enablement & Delivery organization
  • Hire and develop managers, coach performance, build succession and leadership depth, and hold leaders accountable
  • Own sourcing enablement and delivery operations, including service commitments and quality standards
  • Match support to deal complexity and risk and improve services using internal customer feedback
  • Lead the sourcing operating rhythm by integrating demand, priorities, capacity, workload, and performance data
  • Work with category leaders to make tradeoffs, resolve dependencies, and follow through on commitments
  • Provide inputs to Procurement-wide planning and functional business reviews
  • Strengthen contracting with Legal and Procurement Operations/COE through contract lifecycle management, approved templates, and negotiation playbooks
  • Define responsibilities, decision rights, handoffs, escalation paths, prioritization, resource allocation, and delivery issue resolution
  • Bring sourcing into business decisions earlier by connecting demand, supplier activity, and renewals with Sourcing teams
  • Build and prove AI-enabled sourcing and contracting workflows connected to ChatGPT and trusted enterprise systems
  • Partner with Finance Enterprise Technology, Legal, Security, and Operations on technical delivery, controls, support, access restrictions, and contractual commitments
  • Define Procurement’s commercial-enablement approach with GTM, Partnerships, Legal, and Compliance
  • Lead Procurement’s analysis, coordination, and follow-through for approved commercial programs
  • Help define goals and success measures for Procurement’s contribution to OpenAI adoption and commercial growth
  • Bring procurement-buyer expertise into GTM through buyer insights, use cases, demonstrations, industry content, and customer conversations
  • Drive OpenAI adoption across the procurement industry with Sourcing leadership, partners, and GTM
  • Partner with Legal and Compliance on business-integrity and confidentiality safeguards, disclosures, recusals, and independent decision-making arrangements
  • Manage Sourcing Delivery and Contract Management leaders while reporting to the Head of Strategic Sourcing

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 12+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, vendor management, or commercial leadership
  • Strong judgment about supplier choices, negotiations, contracts, and risk
  • Experience building or transforming a procurement capability through rapid growth or change
  • Experience managing managers and developing strong teams through hiring, coaching, performance management, succession planning, and use of internal and external capacity
  • Experience working in or closely with marketing, sales, or commercial teams, ideally serving procurement buyers
  • Ability to turn customer needs into use cases and business cases and deliver commercial results with partner teams
  • Knowledge of the procurement industry, including buyers, technology providers, service firms, and buying priorities
  • Understanding of how to sell to Procurement, including how buyers assess risk, negotiate, and secure internal support
  • Experience using industry analysts, market research, buyer conversations, and professional networks to assess emerging trends
  • Experience turning AI, automation, or enterprise technology into adopted capabilities
  • Ability to work with technical partners, drive adoption, measure improvements, and identify where human judgment remains essential
  • Ability to set direction in ambiguous environments, prioritize work and resources, explain tradeoffs, and gain cross-functional support
  • Curiosity about AI and willingness to test, learn, and change course
  • Ability to work from the San Francisco office three days per week
  • Authorization to work in the country where the job is located
