About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own recurring communications programs explaining research and product priorities, progress, and milestones
  • Lead communications for defined projects and initiatives, including planning, input gathering, drafting, review coordination, and delivery
  • Translate complex technical and research concepts into accurate, accessible employee communications
  • Build relationships with researchers, product managers, engineers, and cross-functional partners
  • Write and edit leadership and organizational updates, Slack posts, FAQs, explainers, and All Hands materials
  • Develop demos, research deep dives, and Q&A sessions, including content shaping and speaker preparation
  • Maintain and improve editorial planning, templates, review processes, and shared communications resources
  • Use employee questions and feedback to identify understanding gaps and improve communications
  • Partner with the manager on major announcements and organizational changes, owning workstreams and flagging sensitive issues, dependencies, and decisions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of experience in internal communications, product communications, journalism, or a related field
  • Ideally, exposure to research or technical teams
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills
  • Ability to independently manage communications projects from planning through delivery
  • Ability to coordinate stakeholders and balance competing deadlines
  • Curiosity about AI, research, and product development
  • Ability to understand and explain complex technical topics
  • Ability to build strong working relationships and gather input
  • Sound judgment with sensitive information and ambiguity
  • Ability to create practical, repeatable communications processes
  • Ability to respond well to feedback and adapt as priorities change
