About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the strategy, roadmap, and standards for ChatGPT’s consumer lifecycle email program across product launches, sustained adoption campaigns, and automated journeys
- Turn product positioning, customer research, and usage insights into clear messages, compelling creative, and practical use cases
- Map the customer journey, identify barriers to adoption, and prioritize opportunities using audience needs, behavioral data, and expected business impact
- Build and optimize onboarding, feature activation, setup reminders, and re-engagement programs for free and paid users
- Partner with the consumer subscriptions PMM and Growth teams on trials, upgrades, and subscriber retention
- Lead campaign delivery from briefing and copywriting through creative development, localization, quality assurance, and launch
- Coordinate agencies and cross-functional partners
- Define audience segments, eligibility, timing, and calls to action with Data Science and Engineering
- Develop a testing roadmap across messaging, creative, targeting, and customer journeys
- Partner with Data Science on experiment design and holdouts
- Turn successful tests into ongoing programs
- Measure incremental product adoption, active usage, retention, paid conversion, and email engagement
- Share regular readouts with learnings, limitations, and recommended next steps
- Improve campaign production and reporting through reusable templates, automation, and better tooling
- Connect email with landing pages, in-product messaging, push notifications, and broader campaigns
- Share insights that improve the customer experience
Requirements
What you’ll need- 6+ years of experience in product marketing, lifecycle marketing, or growth marketing for consumer products
- Hands-on ownership of email programs
- Experience building and scaling lifecycle campaigns that measurably improved product adoption, engagement, retention, or subscription growth
- Strong writing and creative partnership skills
- Ability to turn complex product capabilities into clear benefits, useful examples, and compelling calls to action
- Understanding of consumer behavior and ability to use research and behavioral data to identify audience segments and customer-journey moments
- Strong analytical judgment
- Experience with A/B testing, holdouts, and measuring incremental impact
- Ability to turn results into practical decisions
- Familiarity with campaign platforms, audience logic, automation, and technical partners from strategy through deployment and reporting
- Ability to build partnerships across Product, Marketing, Design, Data Science, and Engineering
- Ability to guide agencies and align teams without formal authority
- Ability to take initiative, prioritize well, and maintain a high bar for quality in a fast-moving environment
- Bonus: experience with consumer subscription businesses, SQL, and using AI tools to improve campaign development, analysis, or operations
- Ability to work from the US office three days per week
