About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design and develop scalable, cloud-native APIs for a greenfield project
Build a new system to replace the legacy system
Apply application development experience, front-end JavaScript frameworks, and performance tuning
Build and support production software systems
Develop service APIs using GraphQL and REST/JSON
Develop using TypeScript/JavaScript for Node.js runtimes or browsers
Implement automated unit and integration testing
Use AI development tools to improve development speed, quality, and efficiency
Evaluate AI outputs and apply AI to customer and business problems
Collaborate with experienced engineers, product leaders, and platform teams
Take end-to-end ownership of system reliability and operational health

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of experience in relevant areas
Strong understanding of software principles, OOP, data structures and algorithms
5+ years of experience building and supporting production software systems
Design first, code later attitude
Passionate about technology and continues to learn
TypeScript/JavaScript for Node.js runtime or Browsers
Service API development, GraphQL, REST/JSON
React experience
SQL Server, MySQL, and SQL outside an ORM
Azure DevOps, agile development processes, and pipelines
Strong Git experience, including branching, merging, resolving conflicts, and reverts
Automated testing, including unit and integration testing
Active use of AI development tools, including code copilots, AI debuggers, and test generators
Ability to critically evaluate AI outputs
University degree or advanced diploma in a software engineering-related discipline, preferably in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
Legally authorized to be employed in the United States
Must not require nonimmigrant or immigrant visa sponsorship
Nice-to-have: Vite, Material UI, Kubernetes/containerization, PHP, Vue.js
