About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build and ship across every Ori surface, including the ori CLI and harness integrations
Implement model switching, provider fallbacks, model-specific tool and prompt settings, and organizational guardrails without requiring extra user authentication
Build the agent runtime, including sandboxed agents, secrets management, session management, compaction, and transferable agent skills
Deploy, fork and shut down agents on command, with version-controlled and auditable agent state
Own quality end to end across installation, authentication, CLI UX, reliability, observability and evaluations
Use and dogfood the products internally
Feed product gaps back into OpenRouter APIs and SDKs to support multi-model agents

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years shipping production software
Real ownership of developer tools, CLIs, agent products or the infrastructure behind them
Daily fluency with coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, Pi or Hermes
Specific opinions about what makes an agent loop, harness or tool integration good
Understanding of tool calling, context management, prompt caching, evals, and model cost, latency and quality tradeoffs
Systems judgment for sandboxing, process isolation, secrets and reliability across many users
High agency and bias toward action
Product taste for developer tools
Nice to have: open-source agent harness, CLI or developer tool experience
Nice to have: multi-agent systems, agent skills or memory, or evaluation and benchmarking tools experience
Nice to have: shipped a Slack app or native macOS app
Nice to have: existing OpenRouter or Ori user experience, or active AI tooling side projects
