About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Draft, review, and negotiate international commercial agreements for marketing and advertising campaigns, strategic partnerships, insertion orders, licensing and content agreements, vendor and client contracts, NDAs, and service agreements
  • Review and approve advertising and marketing materials for compliance with global legal requirements
  • Advise on brand and intellectual property matters, including trademark, copyright, content clearance, licensing, and rights of publicity
  • Advise Commercial, Compliance, Product, and other cross-functional teams on global regulatory and marketing compliance obligations across the UK, EU, and other relevant markets
  • Provide timely, business-forward advice on legal risks and recommend strategic solutions and alternatives
  • Develop scalable legal resources, including templates, playbooks, guidance, and self-service tools
  • Liaise with cross-functional team members, Booking Holdings legal colleagues, and outside counsel as needed
  • Collaborate across OpenTable, Booking Holdings, and sister brands to support business objectives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Qualified solicitor or barrister in England & Wales (or equivalent qualification in another jurisdiction), in good standing
  • 3+ years' experience supporting marketing, advertising, and commercial contracting functions, ideally including UK/EU advertising and consumer protection law
  • Strong working knowledge of advertising requirements, including ASA/CAP Codes and UK GDPR
  • Knowledge of promotional marketing laws and intellectual property licensing
  • Familiarity with U.S. advertising and marketing law is a plus
  • Ability to negotiate and close routine commercial agreements efficiently
  • Strong judgment, communication skills, and a business-oriented approach to risk management
  • Ability to work proactively and independently
  • Ability to work across business units and with colleagues at Booking Holdings and other sister brands
  • Adaptability and openness to taking on tasks in new or unfamiliar areas of the law
