About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain and grow referral-source relationships to increase sales and patient starts
  • Serve as Option Care’s key contact and representative for referral sources
  • Sell Option Care services to area service providers and assess patients for alternative-site care
  • Educate patients, families, caregivers, facility staff, and referral sources about Option Care services and products
  • Provide hands-on, in-person education to patients and caregivers to support timely discharge and therapy independence
  • Communicate with agency staff, medical teams, patients, and families throughout the discharge process
  • Collect, review, complete, and secure signoff for pre-admission information
  • Partner with the Account Manager and Regional Sales Director on area business and growth plans
  • Discuss opportunities and progress with the Account Manager and provide feedback on service promotion
  • Deliver educational and promotional programs with Account Manager and marketing staff
  • Review medical records for medical history and primary/secondary insurance information
  • Coordinate care transitions with referral sources and internal partners to support transitions to home or ATS
  • Facilitate transfer of orders by phone, fax, and e-prescribing when required
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and proprietary information
  • Provide oversight and input regarding patient assessment, treatment, and transition to home care
  • Coordinate communication with other providers
  • Arrange special medical supplies or appliances
  • Travel to partnership facilities, community hospitals, and medical practice offices to sell services, process referrals, and provide live education and training

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) or licensed Pharmacist in the state of practice
  • At least 2 years of experience in the healthcare industry
  • Experience establishing and maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization, in the business community, and with vendors
  • Experience applying knowledge of standard practices for all services offered and current relevant and applicable standards, including ACHC and URAC standards
  • Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards and evaluating customer satisfaction
  • Basic PC skills, including internet, email, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Experience identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve and improve processes
  • Access to reliable transportation for travel to care facilities, home visits, and multiple hospitals
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance if using a personal vehicle
  • Ability to plan, organize, and make presentations
  • Hands-on home or alternate site infusion or discharge planning experience preferred
  • Experience growing service provider partnerships preferred
