About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist the pharmacist with preparation and dispensing of medications and supplies in accordance with company policies, procedures, state regulations, and standards.
  • Accurately compound medications.
  • Perform basic pharmaceutical calculations to obtain correct medication dosages.
  • Review and inspect compounded and packaged medications to help ensure quality standards.
  • Ensure all compounding and packaging is inspected and approved by a licensed pharmacist.
  • Clean and sanitize pharmacy surfaces and laminar flow hoods.
  • Calibrate equipment for accurate functioning.
  • Record and maintain pharmacy temperature and cleaning logs.
  • Train and mentor Compounding Technician I employees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy technician experience.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
  • Must be licensed or registered (if required by the state)
  • Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Able to perform basic & intermediate level mathematical calculations.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Basic level skill in Microsoft Word.
  • Basic level skill in Microsoft Excel.
  • Basic skill level in Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, reaching.
  • Ability to carry at least 30lbs
  • Previous healthcare or pharmacy technician experience is preferred.
