About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Review and resolve sensitive employee concerns and investigations, including workplace interpersonal conflict, employee complaints, ethics reports, and allegations of harassment, discrimination, and retaliation
  • Identify and address employee relations issues and advise business leaders on policy violations, performance management, disability and leave management, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and significant organizational risks
  • Review, edit, and approve constructive disciplinary actions and performance improvement plans in Workday
  • Prepare independent investigation summaries for internal and external stakeholders to close out employee relations cases
  • Support and guide leaders addressing team member behavior and performance concerns
  • Maintain electronic organization practices for retention and retrieval of investigation materials
  • Assist with policies and procedures to enhance the organization’s capacity to handle employee relations matters and comply with federal and state labor laws
  • Explain company policies, rules, regulations, and laws to workers and advise on compliance
  • Review annual team member MVR and background check violations for resolution
  • Review PHI and privacy incidents received from the Compliance Office for corrective action
  • Consult with Legal Counsel on employee relations issues and attend mediations and depositions as needed
  • Conduct exit interviews
  • Manage metrics and report employee relations activity to management
  • No supervisory responsibilities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development or a related field
  • 5 years of experience in human resource roles with at least 2 years concentration in Employee Relations
  • Knowledge of relevant state and federal employment laws including, but not limited to, Title VI, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, ADEA, etc.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues and facts and summarize essential issues to various audiences
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including analysis, interpretation, and reasoning
  • Ability to work with and positively influence peers and management
  • Self-motivated and high endurance with critical attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines and reporting
  • Travel up to 10%
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification preferred
