About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate and provide intermediate direct patient care to patients in the Ambulatory Infusion Clinic
- Initiate, develop, and implement intermediate nursing plans of care and evaluate patient progress
- Organize and participate in direct patient care, perform treatments, administer medications, and educate patients and families/caregivers
- Modify treatment plans in response to changing patient status or physician orders
- Assess patient needs and physical status during skilled visits
- Obtain and clarify physician orders and inform physicians of significant patient condition changes
- Teach patients and families/caregivers to achieve independence with prescribed therapy and care needs
- Communicate with clinical teams, medical providers, patients, and families/caregivers to facilitate continuity of care
- Prepare real-time clinical documentation and submit it within established timelines
- Comply with agency operations, company policies, professional standards, regulations, and accreditation standards
- Use computers and automation technologies to validate treatment orders and document care
- Respond to patient requests and initiate emergency procedures as necessary
- Safeguard confidential patient and proprietary information in accordance with HIPAA
- Explain Option Care's services and related financial obligations to patients
- Provide oversight and coordination of paraprofessionals in home settings
- Participate in multidisciplinary conferences and precept, train, and mentor other nurses as assigned
- Participate in nursing department on-call responsibilities
- Perform other related duties as directed by the supervisor
Requirements
What you’ll need- Active and unrestricted RN license in the state of practice
- Minimum of 1 years of nursing experience
- Current CPR certification required
- Associate's degree in nursing required
- Demonstrated competency in patient care standards required for safe delivery of services and infusion skill sets applicable to agency programs and service needs
- Advanced certification and training as applicable
- Basic knowledge of computer operating systems and software applications
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with a maximum lifting of 75 pounds
- Willing to travel up to 20% of the time for business purposes
- Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
- 1-2 years of previous infusion nursing experience preferred
- Ability to comply with safety requirements, including closed toe-shoes, facemask, goggles, gown and/or gloves and functioning communication device
- Ability to maintain professional licensure through required training, in-services, and continuing education
