About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform warehouse functions including assembling and packaging deliveries, inventory rotation and patient-information data entry
  • Manage efficient and timely delivery of medication and supplies to patient homes, ambulatory infusion suites or other service sites
  • Assist with ordering, receiving and stocking incoming shipments
  • Develop positive working rapport with courier services and understand delivery protocols, response times, after-hours service and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain assigned vehicle and develop alternate delivery plans for breakdowns when applicable
  • Gather and check compounding materials before clean-room entry
  • Compound sterile preparations as needed
  • Check final products for particulate matter and container integrity before pharmacist review
  • Label compounded sterile preparations when state regulations permit
  • Check ancillary supplies and pick/pack supplies
  • Develop delivery zones and coordinate with customer service, Pharmacy and Pharmacy Technicians to prioritize schedules and meet delivery commitments
  • Track delivery-ticket lead time and cost per delivery
  • Maintain safe warehouse operations and facilitate efficient workflow and inventory stocking
  • Assist in orienting new warehouse team members
  • Participate in inventory counts and final reporting
  • Assemble and prepare patient deliveries
  • Receive and stock incoming orders
  • Perform routine maintenance, testing and cleaning of returned equipment
  • Perform inventory control, rotate stock and report shortages
  • Compile ordered medication, supplies, equipment and documentation accurately, obtaining supervisory accuracy checks
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, performance programs and internal controls
  • Report deficiencies in internal controls
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid driver’s license and a driving record meeting company standards
  • Auto insurance maintained at all times
  • Meets all state requirements for a Pharmacy Technician, which may be registration, licensure or certification
  • Awareness of the supervisory pharmacist’s role and responsibility for medication integrity
  • Knowledge of pharmacy service geography, traffic patterns and drive times
  • Understanding of service options and delivery time commitments
  • Knowledge of accreditation standards and requirements
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with branch departments
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret operational logistics functions
  • Ability to operate information systems, follow policy, complete required forms and prepare reports
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Ability to identify problems, collect data, establish facts and contribute toward valid conclusions
  • Associate’s degree preferred
  • One (1) year experience in Warehouse/Distribution/Inventory and Healthcare preferred
