About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Direct and oversee all accounting, finance, and related functions
Build and develop accounting policies and procedures
Oversee the month-end close process, including reconciliations, fluctuation analysis, and accounting issue research
Coordinate, analyze, and report financial performance to management
Oversee payments of all accounts
Monitor working capital and funding balances
Recommend financial and operating performance benchmarks
Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget
Manage preparation of financial statements and notes
Manage external auditors
Represent finance in new system identification and implementation and existing system upgrades
Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations and investment decisions
Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and principles
Lead and manage the Federal Finance and Accounting team
Report to the Optiv + ClearShark President, with indirect reporting to Optiv Finance leadership

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree / MBA or practical equivalent
10 or more years of solid accounting experience
Knowledge of GAAP, SEC rules and regulations, including Sarbanes Oxley compliance
5-10 years progressive accounting experience managing/maintaining Deltek Costpoint ERP system
Hands-on knowledge of DCAA compliance standards, Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)
Ability to demonstrate leadership, creativity, and initiative
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
Experience with creating financial statements
Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close
Strong accounting software user and administration skills
Experience working with senior management leadership and ability to influence others cross-functionally
Experience leading and managing people and direct reports is required
Strong written and oral communication skills
