About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and lead Optiv's enterprise marketing programs and events strategy
- Own Optiv's comprehensive portfolio of corporate, national, regional, partner, client, executive, industry, internal, and CSR events
- Develop a multi-year roadmap driving pipeline growth, customer engagement, partner alignment, and market differentiation
- Establish portfolio governance, prioritization, investment criteria, operating standards, and measurement frameworks
- Ensure consistent brand experiences, operational excellence, and measurable outcomes across event types and geographies
- Advise senior and executive leaders on program strategy, audience engagement, and investment decisions
- Lead planning, execution, and measurement of integrated corporate, national, and regional marketing programs
- Design and deliver curated marketing experiences tied to campaigns, corporate initiatives, regional growth, and partner activities
- Partner with Demand Generation, Partner Marketing, Field Marketing, Brand and Communications, Creative, Digital Marketing, Content, and Marketing Operations
- Collaborate with Sales GTM leadership and regional sales leaders to deliver programs supporting pipeline development, acceleration, and conversion
- Oversee event prospectuses, sponsorship packages, budgets, contract negotiations, reconciliation, event recaps, and performance reporting
- Manage Optiv's company merchandise program, including budget, vendors, product strategy, inventory, and internal support
- Own the marketing program budget and MDF forecast; partner on MDF, DDF, PDF, and BDF generation
- Build OEM and alliance relationships and expand co-marketing and funding opportunities
- Lead joint marketing plans supporting business initiatives, technology plays, solution priorities, and co-innovation
- Develop executive roundtables, advisory forums, and industry-facing engagements
- Lead planning and strategy for Optiv Kick Off, including content, logistics, executive engagement, sponsorships, partner participation, budget, attendee experience, and evaluation
- Manage multi-million-dollar budgets across events, marketing programs, internal events, sponsorships, and CSR initiatives
- Establish KPIs and executive reporting on performance, engagement, pipeline contribution, sponsorship utilization, value delivery, and ROI
- Analyze results and market insights to optimize the portfolio and reallocate resources
- Evaluate and implement event technology, automation, and measurement capabilities
- Lead agency, contractor, and vendor relationships, including selection, negotiation, performance management, and financial stewardship
- Lead, mentor, train, and develop a high-performing marketing programs and events team
- Establish team priorities, goals, metrics, operating models, and standards
- Build team capability through coaching, performance management, career development, workforce planning, and succession planning
- Foster accountability, collaboration, innovation, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making
- Oversee event agencies, contractors, consultants, and surge resources
- Comply with policies and standards and perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field required
- More than 10 years of progressive experience in event marketing, experiential marketing, field marketing, or marketing programs in a complex B2B environment
- 4–7 years leading and developing high-performing teams, including remote or hybrid teams
- Demonstrated success overseeing large-scale enterprise event portfolios and integrated marketing programs with measurable business results
- Experience in cybersecurity, technology, consulting, or professional services preferred
- Proven experience managing multi-million-dollar budgets, sponsorships, and partner-funded initiatives, including MDF, Co-Op, and BDF
- Experience advising and partnering with senior and executive leaders and influencing decisions across a matrixed organization
- Experience with marketing automation, CRM, financial, and event management platforms such as Marketo, Salesforce, NetSuite, Cvent, or similar tools
- Strategic leadership, business acumen, and ability to translate enterprise objectives into actionable programs and portfolio decisions
- Expertise in event strategy, experiential marketing, integrated marketing programs, demand generation, pipeline measurement, and marketing attribution
- Strong executive presence and exceptional communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong financial, analytical, organizational, project management, and operational planning capabilities
- Ability to lead through ambiguity, manage competing priorities, and drive alignment across complex cross-functional initiatives
- Ability to travel up to 25% for planning, site visits, corporate and industry events, executive engagement, and onsite event leadership
