About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership across facilities, health and safety, and environmental performance
  • Lead UK facilities and provide standards, guidance, and collaborative support to global manufacturing sites in the US and globally
  • Set direction, establish consistent best practice, and drive continuous improvement
  • Build partnerships with senior leaders and site stakeholders across Facilities, Health, Safety and Environment
  • Lead organisational change and turn complex challenges into practical solutions
  • Develop and maintain facilities, health and safety, and environmental strategies, standards, governance, and performance measures across UK operations
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation, regulations, and ISO standards
  • Drive environmental and sustainability initiatives, including energy efficiency, waste reduction, recycling, and ISO 14001 compliance
  • Oversee maintenance, security, cleaning, waste management, and contractor performance
  • Manage supplier and stakeholder relationships and resolve issues
  • Support business growth and operational resilience through facilities planning, infrastructure management, and continuous improvement

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Demonstrable experience driving operational excellence and sustaining improvements in facilities management, behavioural health & safety, and environmental compliance, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • Ability to integrate health & safety regulations, including OSHA and ISO 45001, and environmental standards, including ISO 14001, into operational excellence
  • Experience managing projects and driving continuous improvement initiatives across multiple disciplines
  • Demonstrated employee engagement and stakeholder management
  • Experience managing change within complex logistical and active operational environments
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with a hands-on approach
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
  • IOSH and NEBOSH qualifications
  • Experience in a low/medium volume manufacturing organisation
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Qualitative and quantitative analytical skills
  • Excellent leadership and organisational skills
  • Good computer skills, including MS Office applications
  • Medical devices experience preferred, with understanding of cGMP and ISO 13485 requirements
  • Practical experience of Lean tools and methodologies
  • Certification in health & safety or environmental management, such as NEBOSH or IOSH, is desirable
