About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own end-to-end delivery of installations, on-site service, and scheduled maintenance across Europe and the US
- Ensure delivery is on time, on budget, and at appropriate quality for assets worth more than €1M
- Enable Regional Leaders and Project Managers to coordinate complex site deliveries
- Resolve escalations, including on site and out of hours when go-live is at risk
- Own operational KPIs and customer commitments
- Keep Technical Customer Support, Business Development, and the executive team informed
- Raise SOP maturity across internal teams, partners, and customer contractors
- Implement continuous improvement with the Operational Excellence team
- Drive field service management, documentation, spare parts, and capacity-planning tooling adoption
- Build and enforce quality and safety standards
- Lead and develop Field Engineers, Project Managers, and regional leads
- Design the organisation for growth, including hiring, structuring, and restructuring
- Define and operationalize the Field Operations roadmap and capacity and hiring plan
- Build a high-standards, low-ego, no-blame culture
- Report to the Chief Operating Officer and collaborate with Technical Customer Support, Operational Excellence, Supply Chain, Hardware, Product, Business Development, equipment partners, and automation partners
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10+ years in field or service operations
- Experience leading installation, on-site service, and maintenance operations for complex technical products
- Experience with hardware plus service business models
- Experience in an organisation with mature SOPs, field service tooling, quality processes, and clear team structures
- Experience building and leading geographically distributed teams
- Experience developing team leads into operational leaders
- Ability to design operating models and roadmaps while remaining hands-on
- Continuous improvement methods and experience applying them
- Technical fluency in site planning, requirement specifications, installation, and commissioning
- Willingness to travel to European and US sites
- EU Class B driver’s licence
- Fluent in English
- Additional German, Spanish, Italian, or French is a plus
