About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support pre-employment testing, including drug testing and background checks
  • Partner with the background-check vendor on changes, upgrades, and troubleshooting
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition on process flow and individual case outcomes
  • Partner with hiring managers and candidates to maintain process integrity and compliance
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for general human resources questions and employee concerns
  • Provide high-level and sensitive support to managers, supervisors, employees, and applicants
  • Respond to basic questions in the HR ticketing system and associated group email boxes
  • Direct employees to appropriate resources and forward complex requests to Centers of Excellence
  • Assist employees and redirect calls through the HR phone queue
  • Complete assigned projects to enhance knowledge of HR programs and support HR Centers of Excellence
  • Pull documents for employees, managers, and Legal
  • Provide education for benefits enrollment and annual activities
  • Work on campus part time

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent and one year of general office or secretarial experience, or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • MS Office Suite skills, including intermediate Excel skills
  • Customer service skills and sensitivity to employees with diverse needs and circumstances
  • Experience in HR department (preferred)
  • 2 years of support or customer service work in an office setting (preferred)
  • Knowledge of Oracle (preferred)
  • Knowledge of OnBase (preferred)
  • Webpage maintenance (preferred)
