About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Establish vision, strategy, direction, technical standards, and core technology architecture for OHSU
- Define robust, scalable, extensible technology architecture integrated with enterprise architecture and industry best practices
- Define engineering and technical standards, processes, and procedures and ensure adoption across the division
- Direct delivery and ongoing reliability of core technology services, systems, and networks
- Oversee operational procedures, disaster planning, security alignment, and business continuity
- Establish IT capacity planning for current and future infrastructure needs
- Identify technical infrastructure risks, emerging requirements, and systems issues and develop solutions
- Establish and oversee division performance metrics and measurements
- Manage departmental operating and capital budgets
- Oversee strategic technology vendor relationships and contracts with Vendor Management
- Lead the Technology Infrastructure, Design and Engineering Division
- Supervise and mentor directors and frontline managers
- Work with ITG executive management to determine and execute strategic goals and initiatives
- Represent ITG executive management on committees and other groups
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s degree in information technology or related field; OR Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field and significant experience in Information Technology
- Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible management positions in information technology
- Three years of experience in technology management at senior management level, including budgeting and financial reporting
- Experience evaluating business requirements, technology options, operating models, costs, risks, and governance considerations
- Significant organizational and management skills within a large organization
- Experience developing and implementing IT strategies
- IT project/program management experience managing small- and large-scale applications projects
- Experience in a complex technology environment
- Broad knowledge of IT systems, networks, and telecommunications
- Leadership of highly skilled management and technical personnel overseeing technology strategy and planning
- Superior oral, written and communication skills
- Ability to operate in a highly stressful environment with good judgment and creative/original thinking
- Ability to influence, motivate, and provide clear direction
- Ability to use tact and diplomacy to maintain effective working relationships
- Skill in overseeing multiple projects with budget responsibilities
- Demonstrated skill in managing operational and capital budgets
- Knowledge of ITIL service management concepts
