About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide shift coverage as needed for the NeuroHospitalist service
  • Provide in-person care at OHSU during day shifts, responding to ward consults
  • Provide virtual care at OHSU during night shifts
  • Provide virtual coverage for Adventist Health Portland, Hillsboro Medical Center, and/or St. Charles Medical Center in Bend, Oregon
  • Conduct ward consults, telehealth video and/or phone evaluations, and other consultations
  • Teach residents during night shifts, with residents serving as first call for Neurology patients
  • Work under the supervision of the NeuroHospitalist Consult Medical Director, Division Chief of Comprehensive Neurology and Neurohospitalist Program, and Chair of the Department of Neurology
  • Support the mission goals and objectives of OHSU and the School of Medicine
  • Stroke cases are excluded

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • M.D. or D.O.
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified Neurologist
  • Approved staff privileges at OHSU, Adventist Portland, St. Charles Medical Center and/or Hillsboro Medical Center for MD/DO
  • Ability to provide in-person patient care during day shifts and virtual patient care during night shifts
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including weekdays, weekends, and some holidays
  • Ability to participate in resident teaching responsibilities
  • Drug test required
