About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work safely and follow all WHS policies and procedures
- Respond to customer support requests raised by ticket, email, or phone
- Provide remote and on-site training for customers and internal teams
- Assist with commissioning and decommissioning of customer projects
- Commission, troubleshoot, maintain, decommission, and collect data from geotechnical instruments
- Create technical documentation including field reports, troubleshooting steps, and FAQs
- Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and other departments as needed
- Support complex geotechnical monitoring projects for mines, tailing storage facilities, hydro-electric dams, bridges, tunnels, and similar sites
- Travel to customer sites across Canada, the United States, Mexico, and Central American countries
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree in Geotechnical, Geospatial, Geological, Mining, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical disciplines
- 3+ years of experience with geotechnical design/monitoring, instrumentation, telemetry, electronics, construction, or similar disciplines
- General knowledge of geotechnical design/monitoring concepts, sensor types, datalogging equipment, telemetry, software, or related information
- Experience working with geotechnical monitoring equipment or related software, including total stations, piezometers, extensometers, inclinometers, or settlement cells
- Ability to perform field visits to customer sites for training, installation, and equipment troubleshooting
- Ability to adhere to strict safety protocols
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions from -40°C to +40°C
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer-first mindset
- Strong work ethic and problem-solving capability
- Bilingual English and French or Spanish is a preferred asset
- Experience with Orica GeoSolutions products is a preferred asset
- Experience with industry competitor products is a preferred asset
- Programming knowledge such as Python or Visual Basic for advanced data analysis is a preferred asset
- Must not require Orica immigration sponsorship now or in the future
