About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and manage the fragrance evaluation team
- Set standards for olfactive excellence and consistency
- Serve as final decision-maker and internal voice of the consumer
- Own client-facing evaluation moments, shape fragrance narratives, and close
- Partner with perfumers through iterative smelling, feedback, and refinement sessions
- Oversee fragrance selection across fine fragrance and personal/home care
- Give evaluators strategic, stage-by-stage guidance to accelerate and close deals
- Join Paladin materials-related meetings and advocate for the fragrance department
- Collaborate with commercial teams to align fragrance direction with client needs and market opportunities
- Support development across oil and turnkey projects
- Participate in and help lead internal development panels
- Partner with fragrance marketing and trend teams to translate scent into olfactive narratives
- Help define how Osmo communicates scent internally and externally
- Provide structured feedback on AI- and LLM-powered development tools
- Maintain understanding of consumer preferences, category trends, and competitive landscape
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7–10+ years of experience in fragrance evaluation
- Strong expertise in fine fragrance
- Meaningful experience in personal/home care and candles
- US-based and able to work on-site in Elizabeth, NJ; non-negotiable, no exceptions for international candidates
- Proven, demonstrated coaching and team-building experience, including real mentorship and PIPs where warranted
- Track record building trust with perfumers
- Strong olfactive acuity and ability to guide scent direction and selection
- Comfort working cross-functionally with perfumers, commercial teams, and marketing
- Comfortable with ambiguity and building new ways of working
- Clear communication skills and ability to translate scent into decision-driving language
- Direct experience leading client-facing evaluation and closing preferred
- Experience building trust and coaching relationships with perfumers and evaluators preferred
- Must verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States
- Required to complete employment eligibility verification upon hire
