About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain, extend, and defend the long-range P&L, cash forecast, and scenario analyses
  • Build one-off financial models for make-versus-buy, pricing, headcount ROI, and capital allocation decisions
  • Build and maintain department-level budgets
  • Track actuals versus plan monthly and own variance explanations
  • Support month-end close with the Controller
  • Own financial reporting deliverables and management reporting packages
  • Prepare board- and investor-facing slides, data room exhibits, ad hoc analyses, and due diligence support
  • Design and maintain pipelines connecting business systems to the corporate model
  • Automate reporting, reconciliations, variance alerts, and close checklists
  • Evaluate AI tools and determine what to build, buy, or avoid
  • Serve as the primary finance contact for department heads and translate financial information into plain language
  • Own cross-functional projects as the CFO's financially minded execution resource
  • Manage vendors, contracts, compliance filings, and platform administration

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4–8 years in FP&A, strategic finance, investment banking, or a comparably rigorous financial analytical role
  • Ability to build a clean, auditable model from scratch
  • Experience carrying significant work end to end across multiple concurrent projects and stakeholders
  • Concise, well-organized writing
  • Active use of AI tooling
  • Comfort with scripting or APIs
  • Experience with ERP or accounting systems at the transaction level; NetSuite preferred
  • Experience building or maintaining finance data pipelines, automations, or integrations is a differentiator
  • Experience at a venture-backed startup (Series A/B/C) in finance or business operations is a differentiator
  • Exposure to investor relations, due diligence, or fundraising processes is a differentiator
  • Familiarity with Ramp, JustWorks, or similar spend management and HRIS platforms is a differentiator
  • Background in AI/ML, chemicals, biotech, life sciences, manufacturing, or a similar technically complex or industrial industry is a differentiator
  • Must verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States upon hire
