About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Interpret and implement regulatory requirements for fragrance ingredients and finished products across global markets
- Drive compliance with IFRA standards and determine when formulations must change ahead of restrictions and amendments
- Lead regulatory database and documentation strategy
- Support Perfumery, Procurement, Quality, Manufacturing, and Commercial as the regulatory authority in product development decisions
- Conduct regulatory risk assessments on raw materials, formulations, and finished products
- Support customer-facing compliance inquiries and determine documentation that satisfies customer-specific requirements
- Track emerging global regulatory trends and translate them into business recommendations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Regulatory Affairs, Toxicology, or a related field
- 8+ years in regulatory affairs
- Fragrance industry experience required
- Global/multi-market regulatory experience across more than one major jurisdiction
- Deep working knowledge of IFRA standards, REACH, EU Cosmetic Regulation (1223/2009), FDA/MoCRA, and other relevant global regulations
- Ability to apply regulations where clear precedent does not exist
- Strong communication skills and ability to advise cross-functional stakeholders and influence regulatory-risk decisions
- Familiarity with fragrance formulation and raw materials
- Ability to work 3 days per week in the Elizabeth, NJ office
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Experience building or restructuring a regulatory function is a plus
- Experience acting as regulatory advisor during due diligence or audits is a plus
