About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support Medical Directors and Franchise Leads in driving strategic and tactical excellence across assigned Otsuka therapeutic-area assets
  • Lead key initiatives and manage assigned Medical Affairs projects
  • Collaborate with Global Medical Affairs functions, including Medical Communications, Field Medical, Medical Education, Evidence Generation, and Medical Operations
  • Contribute to global medical affairs strategies and tactical plans for assigned assets and indications
  • Support annual medical planning, medical objectives, key initiatives, and success metrics
  • Monitor, evaluate, and synthesize scientific, clinical, and competitive insights
  • Support lifecycle management, launch readiness, and indication expansion planning
  • Identify evidence gaps and prioritize evidence-generation opportunities
  • Support evidence-generation plans, secondary analyses, publications, real-world evidence, and scientific communications
  • Develop relationships with external experts and stakeholders
  • Support advisory boards, expert consultations, and scientific engagement activities
  • Support publication planning, congress activities, scientific narratives, communication platforms, and medical education materials
  • Ensure scientific accuracy, consistency, and alignment across deliverables
  • Represent Medical Affairs on cross-functional asset teams and strategic initiatives
  • Partner with Commercial, Clinical Development, Regulatory, Global Integrated Evidence & Innovation, Market Access, and other functions
  • Lead assigned Medical Affairs projects and workstreams
  • Collect and analyze insights from external experts, scientific meetings, emerging data, and the treatment landscape
  • Translate insights into actionable recommendations and communicate strategic implications to internal stakeholders

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • MD, DO, PharmD, or PhD in a relevant life sciences discipline required
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Medical Affairs Strategy in CNS, including psychiatry or other related therapeutic areas preferred
  • Ability to contribute to medical strategy development and execute cross-functional initiatives
  • Experience supporting evidence generation activities, scientific communications, publications, and/or external expert engagement
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical development, Medical Affairs functions, and applicable industry regulations
  • Ability to critically evaluate and synthesize scientific and clinical data to inform medical and business decisions
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment
  • Strong project management, organizational, and prioritization skills; ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently
  • Experience working with external experts, advisory boards, and scientific meetings preferred
  • Launch and/or pre-launch experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Veeva and Microsoft Office applications preferred
