About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Contribute to the ecosystem strategic business plan and identify key stakeholders
  • Provide clinical, scientific, and health economic information related to CNS disease states and appropriate utilization of approved Otsuka products
  • Engage with key influencers, local practice leaders, healthcare providers, and patient groups
  • Customize regional business strategy to meet local ecosystem needs
  • Cover multiple products within the CNS therapeutic area and conduct clinical and scientific discussions
  • Contribute a clinical and scientific perspective to local execution plans and coordinate field activities
  • Build and maintain relationships with scientific and medical customers and organizations across the ecosystem
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the ecosystem and align activities with Otsuka's patient-centric strategy
  • Provide evidence-based information on the clinical, economic, and humanistic value of Otsuka and its products
  • Build internal working relationships across the matrix team and execute local medical strategies
  • Disseminate disease-state and healthcare-landscape information to customers
  • Deliver clinical and data-focused training for promotional and disease-state speakers
  • Support Otsuka's speaker bureau
  • Collect and submit medical insights to support decision-making and evidence-generation prioritization
  • Assist with clinical trials, health economic outcomes research, and medical collaborations
  • Provide clinical expertise and feedback on clinical-trial site selection and performance
  • Mentor peers, new hires, and functional and therapeutic development
  • Support Safety & Pharmacovigilance, Sales Training medical education, and the Field Medical Center of Excellence

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • MD/DO, PharmD, or PhD in life sciences, or Master's degree with equivalent psychiatry or CNS clinical experience
  • Minimum 2 years of pharmaceutical medical affairs or relevant work experience
  • Understanding of the interconnectivity of health systems and overall delivery of patient care
  • Experience working with healthcare professionals and other decision makers
  • Strong business acumen and knowledge of the industry, Otsuka's business model and value proposition, key competitors, and marketplace dynamics
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to lead others and project teams strategically
  • Ability to summarize and communicate complex information and business objectives concisely and effectively
  • Strong understanding of industry legal, regulatory, and compliance landscape
  • Ability to work in an ambiguous environment undergoing transformation
