About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Contribute to ecosystem strategic business plans and identify vital stakeholders
- Provide clinical, scientific, and health economic information related to CNS disease states and appropriate use of approved Otsuka products
- Engage key influencers, local practice leaders, healthcare providers, and patient groups
- Contribute to customization of regional business strategy for local ecosystem needs
- Address medical and educational requirements of customers
- Cover multiple products within the CNS therapeutic area and conduct broad clinical and scientific discussions
- Contribute clinical and scientific perspectives to local execution plans and coordinate field activities
- Build and cultivate relationships with scientific and medical customers and organizations across the ecosystem
- Develop and maintain comprehensive understanding of the ecosystem and align with Otsuka's patient-centric strategy
- Provide evidence-based information on the clinical, economic, and humanistic value of Otsuka and its products
- Build internal matrix-team relationships and execute local medical strategies
- Disseminate disease-state and healthcare-landscape information to customers
- Provide clinical and data-focused training for promotional and disease-state speakers
- Support Otsuka's speaker bureau
- Collect and submit medical insights for decision-making and evidence-generation prioritization
- Assist with clinical trials, including registrational, post-marketing, investigator-sponsored trials, and health economic outcomes research
- Mentor peers and new hires
- Support Safety & Pharmacovigilance, Sales Training medical education, and the Field Medical Center of Excellence
Requirements
What you’ll need- MD/DO, PharmD, or PhD in life sciences, or Master's degree with equivalent psychiatry or CNS clinical experience
- Minimum 2 years of pharmaceutical medical affairs or relevant work experience
- Understanding of the interconnectivity of health systems and overall delivery of patient care
- Experience working with healthcare professionals and other decision makers
- Strong business acumen and knowledge of the industry, Otsuka's business model and value proposition, key competitors, and marketplace dynamics
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Strong conflict resolution skills
- Ability to lead others and project teams strategically
- Ability to summarize and communicate complex information and business objectives concisely and effectively
- Strong understanding of industry legal, regulatory, and compliance landscape
- Ability to work in an ambiguous environment undergoing transformation

- Ability to travel by air or car up to 70% of the time, depending upon territory size
