About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Contribute to the ecosystem strategic business plan and identify key stakeholders
- Provide clinical, scientific, and health economic information related to CNS disease states and appropriate utilization of approved Otsuka products
- Engage key influencers, local practice leaders, healthcare providers, and patient groups within the ecosystem
- Contribute to customization of regional business strategy and address customers' medical and educational requirements
- Cover multiple CNS products and participate in clinical and scientific discussions affecting patient care
- Contribute a clinical and scientific perspective to local execution plans and coordinate field activities
- Build and cultivate relationships with scientific and medical customers and organizations across the territory
- Develop and maintain comprehensive understanding of the ecosystem and align with Otsuka's patient-centric strategy
- Provide evidence-based information on the clinical, economic, and humanistic value of Otsuka and its products
- Build internal working relationships across the matrix team and execute local medical strategies
- Disseminate disease-state and healthcare-landscape information to field customers
- Deliver clinical and data-focused training for promotional and disease-state speakers
- Serve on Otsuka's speaker bureau as needed
- Collect and submit medical insights informing decision-making and evidence-generation priorities
- Assist with clinical trials, health economic outcomes research, and medical collaborations
- Mentor peers and new hires
- Support Safety & Pharmacovigilance, Sales Training medical education, and the Field Medical Center of Excellence
Requirements
What you’ll need- MD/DO, PharmD, or PhD in life sciences, or a Master's degree with equivalent psychiatry or CNS clinical experience
- Minimum 2 years of pharmaceutical medical affairs or relevant work experience
- Understanding of the interconnectivity of health systems and overall delivery of patient care
- Experience working with healthcare professionals and other decision makers
- Strong business acumen and knowledge of the industry, Otsuka's business model and value proposition, key competitors, and marketplace factors/dynamics
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Strong conflict resolution skills
- Ability to lead others and project teams strategically
- Ability to summarize and communicate complex information and business objectives concisely and effectively
- Strong understanding of industry legal, regulatory, and compliance landscape
- Ability to work in an ambiguous environment undergoing transformation
- Demonstrated behaviors aligned with Otsuka Corporate Brand: Perseverance, Unconventional Thinking, and Humility
- Business travel by air or car, up to 70% of time depending upon territory size
