About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the launch and ongoing growth of Otsuka’s Rare Neurology Franchise
  • Communicate complex clinical data, protocols, screening and treatment pathways, market access policies, therapy access, and patient support information
  • Educate ALS Centers of Excellence, healthcare providers, and non-clinical stakeholders on disease awareness, screening, diagnosis, and treatment
  • Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with healthcare providers and key opinion leaders
  • Create positive prescribing experiences by communicating and pulling through access and patient support programs
  • Participate in conferences, congresses, and scientific meetings
  • Develop strategic account plans and use customer insights and market intelligence to drive regional strategy
  • Navigate ALS Centers of Excellence, identify stakeholders and contacts, document process flows, and advance Otsuka objectives
  • Navigate treatment logistics, site-of-care considerations, patient onboarding, and therapy initiation barriers
  • Partner with Market Access and Patient Support to compliantly remove therapy access barriers
  • Identify and document local referral networks and ALS referral patterns
  • Map patient journeys and formulate solutions for barriers to diagnosis, referral, genetic testing, counseling, and treatment
  • Collaborate with Thought Leads Liaisons, Medical Science Liaisons, Case Managers, leadership, and other cross-functional partners
  • Use Otsuka platforms and technology to document account contacts, IDN process flows, and community referral patterns
  • Attend meetings and training programs and implement brand strategy, messaging, disease-state, and customer-engagement tactics in the assigned region
  • Certify on approved clinical resources, messaging, business acumen training, compliance, and engagement policies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and driving record in compliance with company standards
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Preferred 10+ (minimum 8) years of experience in Biotech/Pharma commercial field strategic roles
  • Experience in new product launches
  • Center of Excellence and IDN Navigation, including KOL engagement
  • Rare and/or Ultra-Rare Disease experience
  • Cross-functional field team coordination
  • Background in rare neurology, CAR-T, or Gene Therapy account management strongly preferred
  • Advanced clinical degrees prioritized but not required
  • Proven track record of success, including consistent high ranking (Top 30%) over minimum 2+ years or achievement awards
  • Must reside in Region
  • Ability to understand and articulate complex clinical data and outcomes
  • Experience developing strategic account plans using diverse data sources, customer feedback, and market intelligence
  • Experience with hospital purchasing, coding, and reimbursement procedures
  • Ability to navigate complex treatment logistics, patient onboarding, and therapy initiation barriers
  • Ability to map patient journeys, referral networks, and treatment pathways
  • Completion of required clinical, messaging, business acumen, compliance, and policy certifications/training
