About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the launch and ongoing growth of Otsuka’s Rare Neurology Franchise
- Communicate complex clinical data, protocols, screening and treatment pathways, market access policies, therapy access, and patient support information
- Educate ALS Centers of Excellence, healthcare providers, and key non-clinical stakeholders on disease awareness, screening, diagnosis, and treatment
- Develop and maintain relationships with healthcare providers and key opinion leaders
- Create positive prescribing experiences by executing access and patient support programs
- Participate in conferences, congresses, and scientific meetings
- Develop strategic account plans and use insights to drive regional strategy and execution
- Navigate ALS Centers of Excellence, identify stakeholders, document process flows, and advance Otsuka objectives
- Address treatment logistics, site-of-care considerations, patient onboarding, and therapy initiation barriers
- Partner with Market Access and Patient Support to compliantly remove barriers to therapy
- Map referral networks and patient journeys, identifying barriers to diagnosis, genetic testing, referral, and treatment
- Collaborate with Thought Leads Liaisons, Medical Science Liaisons, Case Managers, leadership, and other cross-functional partners
- Document account contacts, IDN process flows, and community referral patterns using Otsuka platforms
- Complete training and certification programs to implement brand strategy, messaging, disease-state knowledge, and customer engagement tactics
- Launch and market Otsuka’s FUS-ALS treatment and support future rare neurology programs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Valid U.S. driver’s license and driving record compliant with company standards
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum 8 years of experience in biotech/pharma commercial field strategic roles; 10+ years preferred
- Experience in new product launches
- Center of Excellence and IDN navigation, including KOL engagement
- Rare and/or ultra-rare disease experience
- Cross-functional field team coordination
- Advanced clinical degrees such as BSN or RN strongly preferred but not required
- Proven success demonstrated by consistent Top 30% ranking for at least 2 years, achievement awards, or similar
- Must reside in the assigned region
- Rare neurology, CAR-T, or gene therapy account management strongly preferred
- Ability to understand and articulate complex clinical data and outcomes
- Experience with hospital purchasing, coding, reimbursement procedures, patient onboarding, and therapy initiation barriers
- Ability to develop strategic account plans using customer feedback, market intelligence, and diverse data sources
- Ability to identify and document referral networks, patient journeys, and treatment-access barriers
- Ability to use Otsuka platforms and technology
- Completion of required training and certifications on approved clinical resources, messaging, business acumen, compliance, and HCP/patient engagement policies
