About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide leadership, oversight, and technical/scientific direction to the Biometrics organization
  • Drive efficient and effective trial design and planning, stratification and enrichment, analysis planning, modeling and simulation, submission reporting, advisory committee preparation, and presentations
  • Scientifically review protocols, analysis plans, health authority submission documents, and publication materials
  • Lead external scientific interactions, including health authority interactions
  • Ensure effective and efficient delivery of the Clinical Development portfolio through resourcing, prioritization, timeline management, and functional outsourcing
  • Participate in Clinical Development portfolio governance and provide scientific, regulatory, and competitive insights
  • Contribute to Data & Analytics governance reviews and portfolio prioritization discussions
  • Monitor and report Biometrics operational health using scorecards and metrics for financial, quality, and cycle-time performance
  • Develop and lead the digital approach for clinical data from traditional and digital mechanisms such as mHealth
  • Serve as a knowledge base and resource to project teams and as an escalation and resolution point
  • Model and coach scientific engagement best practices and foster collaborative debate
  • Foster goal achievement, accountability, data-driven decision-making, learning, knowledge sharing, and professional development
  • Ensure collaboration and communication with key Biometrics stakeholders
  • Attract, retain, develop, and promote talent to build a balanced and diverse team
  • Model innovation and intellectual curiosity with discipline and structure as a member of the Data & Analytics Leadership Team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience working within the pharmaceutical industry with functional leadership experience of Biometrics or a Biometrics business unit
  • Experience supporting clinical portfolios spanning multiple therapeutic areas and development phases
  • Line management experience with a multi-function organization and extensive experience managing managers of people
  • Experience managing a budget, including resourcing, outsourcing, and discretionary spend
  • Regulatory in-person interaction experience, such as Scientific Advice or Advisory Committee interactions
  • Experience driving large, complex change efforts and results through influence, persuasion, and relationships
  • Track record of quickly assessing new situations and adding immediate value
  • Exceptional ability to co-create and work cooperatively with business leaders and key stakeholders
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including organizing, conceptually interpreting, and clearly communicating collaboratively developed material
  • Ability to translate complexity into actionable outcomes
  • Effective influencing and negotiation skills
  • Doctorate degree in Biostatistics or a similar discipline required
  • Minimum 15 years of industry-related experience within the pharmaceutical industry
  • Minimum 10 years of leadership responsibilities
  • Up to 15% travel required based on business needs
