About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver quality prosthetics and professional services in relation to patient care
  • Formulate designs of prosthetic and orthotic devices
  • Provide direction and guidance to technicians responsible for fabricating prostheses
  • Fabricate devices as needed to assure quality, fit, function, timely delivery, and responsiveness to patient needs
  • Perform fitting, including static and dynamic alignments
  • Evaluate devices on patients and adjust them for fit, function, medical efficacy, and quality
  • Perform outcome measures as appropriate
  • Instruct patients in use of devices
  • Provide post-delivery service and adjustments
  • Specify information to administrative staff for reimbursement activities
  • Maintain complete and current patient charts and records of care and service daily
  • Train technicians, residents, and fitters
  • Develop a referral and client base that contributes profitably to the practice
  • Market professional services through relationships with physicians, therapists, patients, and referral sources
  • Maintain current state-of-the-art professional knowledge, procedures, components, and materials
  • Identify and create process improvements to promote efficiency and productivity
  • Adhere to safety regulations, Medicare and governmental regulations, bloodborne pathogen requirements, and OSHA requirements
  • Comply with Corporate Compliance and HIPAA responsibilities
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree OR Master’s in Orthotics and/or Prosthetics
  • 1-5 years experience in Orthotics and/or Prosthetics
  • In states where licensure is required, the ability to obtain and maintain state licensure may be required as well
  • Advanced computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office and databases
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to work effectively with vendors, suppliers, co-workers, and management
  • Ability to work collaboratively and participate in a team approach
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, including prioritizing and managing multiple tasks to completion
  • Ability to anticipate, identify, analyze, and resolve conflict and problems
  • A valid driver’s license with no limitations operating a motor vehicle
  • Must have a reliable vehicle
