About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own trade readiness for new product introductions (NPI) and new market entries, running classification/origin pre-assessments and market-entry regulatory scans before launch commitments are made
  • Build and administer repeatable trade-readiness checklists and review cadences so trade input reaches product and go-to-market decisions early
  • Serve as Trade's voice in launch decision forums, providing trade-readiness signals for go/no-go decisions
  • Coordinate Risk, Controls & Governance with Trade Value Optimization so risk clearances and landed-cost/duty inputs inform launch decisions
  • Establish handoff mechanisms for new SKU, market-entry, or channel-expansion signals and request risk clearance before duty-savings positions are claimed
  • Give Trade Value Optimization advance visibility into launches so FTA eligibility, preferential program qualification, and first-sale opportunities can be evaluated
  • Design and establish intake, documentation, and escalation processes
  • Build and maintain a Trade Request Intake process for landed-cost and risk-clearance requests
  • Report pillar KPIs, including pre-commitment trade-readiness assessment rates and lead time between trade engagement and launch date

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 8-12+ years of professional experience in global trade compliance, customs, or international trade operations, ideally in consumer electronics, health-tech/medical device, or CPG
  • Deep working knowledge of global import/export regulations, HS classification, country-of-origin determinations, and trade-risk assessment for new product launches
  • Proven ability to build a program, process, or function from scratch, with the judgment to define governance and cadence where none currently exists
  • Excellent cross-functional influence skills with the ability to get Product, Legal, Sourcing, and Go-to-Market teams to adopt a new trade-readiness gate without formal authority over them
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, comfortable escalating risk and readiness status to program leadership
  • Familiarity with FTA/preferential trade programs and duty-savings mechanisms is a plus
  • OE & IT Diploma in International Trade / World Customs Compliance, or CILT Certificate of Customs Competency, preferred not required
  • Strong preference for candidates based in the GMT/BST (UK) time
