About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead end-to-end test strategy, design, development, and deployment of production test solutions for Ōura products
Own test engineering across POC, prototype, EVT, DVT, PVT, ramp, and mass production phases
Drive early and ongoing manufacturing involvement and design for testability
Partner with Hardware, Systems, Product, Firmware, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, and Program teams to define test requirements
Incorporate DFMEA/PFMEA, engineering specifications, and test coverage analysis into product design
Provide hands-on production support for complex test issues, yield excursions, and systemic failures
Lead test readiness reviews and production gate decisions with Operations and contract manufacturers
Architect, design, and deploy manufacturing test stations and processes
Develop and maintain Python and TestStand/LabVIEW test software and automation
Drive modular, scalable, and maintainable test software frameworks for high-volume manufacturing
Apply statistical tools and analyze production data to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities
Lead failure analysis and close test gaps and correlation issues across internal labs and external factories
Improve product quality, yield, and cost through systematic test optimization
Act as primary technical interface to contract manufacturers and test equipment vendors
Drive contract manufacturer test development, qualification, deployment, and sustaining
Lead issue resolution for tester hardware, software, fixtures, and factory execution
Provide technical direction, training, and mentorship to contract manufacturer teams and automation suppliers
Prepare and present test engineering status updates to leadership and executive stakeholders
Achieve 90-day, 6-month, and 12-month test engineering milestones, including DFT reviews, station/software deployment, correlation improvements, and reusable frameworks

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, test engineering, or automation (assembly, inspection, test station design, or factory deployment)
Hands-on experience developing manufacturing test software in Python, C, C++, Rust
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
Experience supporting development builds and mass production with global manufacturing partners
Willingness to travel up to 25% across domestic and international factory sites
Experience with TestStand/LabVIEW, instrument control, data acquisition and logging, test sequencing, error handling, factory dashboards, and analytics hooks
Experience applying GR&R, SPC, Cp/Cpk, correlation analysis, and DOE
Experience with test station qualification and correlation, calibration, and manufacturing test processes
