About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Set the technical direction and own the architecture of Oura's agentic development pipeline
- Improve agent orchestration, context management, tool calling, reliability, throughput, cost and developer experience across repositories
- Extend agentic workflows across the software development lifecycle, including specification checks, test generation, automated review, CI failure triage and repair, release verification and post-deploy signals
- Prototype workflows rapidly, validate them on real tickets with squads, and harden successful approaches into production infrastructure
- Own evaluation sets, LLM-as-a-judge grading, versioning, tracing and dashboards for production AI workflows
- Track and communicate merge rate, rework, time-to-signal, cost per change and escaped defects
- Design sandboxing, permissions, human checkpoints, privacy controls and risk-based guardrails
- Lead AI-native engineering practices and raise engineering standards across the organization
- Drive adoption by embedding with squads, fixing systemic pipeline issues, and creating paved paths, skills, templates and documentation
- Partner with platform, developer productivity, security and privacy, AI infrastructure, mobile and backend teams, product, design and engineering leadership
Requirements
What you’ll need- Building and operating production systems that other engineers depend on, including developer tooling, internal platforms, or AI infrastructure at scale
- Experience building and operating agentic coding workflows or autonomous loops in a real engineering organization, beyond demos, with adoption and measured results
- Ability to reason about specification, review, testing, CI/CD, release and operations as one system
- Ability to set direction across teams, write technical designs, and make architecture and risk decisions
- Strong fundamentals in mobile domain or backend APIs, concurrency, distributed systems, testing, debugging and reliability
- Fluency in one domain of backend, iOS, or Android, with ability to stretch into others
- Understanding of security and privacy for sensitive personal data and agent access to real systems
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity and shape requirements through experimentation
- Ability to collaborate, communicate clearly, take feedback, share credit, and persevere through failed experiments
- Experience with coding agents, evaluation harnesses, sandboxed execution, developer productivity measurement, mobile apps, digital health, open-source AI projects, or mentoring is beneficial but not required
