About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Install, maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair plant electrical, instrumentation, automation, and control systems
  • Support safe and reliable plant operations through preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance
  • Diagnose, install, test, calibrate, maintain, and repair PLCs, motor controls, AC/DC drive systems, instrumentation, transducers, computer interface equipment, and control systems
  • Maintain, construct, install, repair, and calibrate plant electrical, instrument, and metering equipment
  • Participate in preventive and predictive maintenance programs
  • Perform electrical/electronic layouts and circuit designs
  • Use engineering drawings, electrical diagrams, sketches, and related documents
  • Apply protective coatings to equipment
  • Participate in plant safety and housekeeping programs
  • Complete Work Orders, Activity Reports, and Work Logs in SAP
  • Resolve electrical issues affecting plant processes
  • Maintain compliance with NFPA 70E electrical safety requirements
  • Participate in root cause failure analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and process uptime
  • Perform other related duties as directed by management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Four or more years related experience in an industrial environment
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements
  • Certified electrician or equivalent experience
  • Experience troubleshooting Allen-Bradley PLC and HMI systems
  • Must be able to read electrical/electronic blueprints
  • Proficient troubleshooting of 480/240/120VAC and 24VDC control systems
  • Understanding of analog and discrete I/O systems
  • Working knowledge of 4-20mA, 0-10V, thermocouple, and RTD signals
  • Ability to troubleshoot Ethernet/IP and industrial communications networks
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs
  • Ability to use calibration equipment and diagnostic software
  • Experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs)
  • Ability to use electrical meters to troubleshoot electrical/electronic problems
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts and aerial lifts
  • Ability to troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Ability to effectively utilize SAP software
  • Ability to run conduit
  • Ability to document changes in written formats
  • Ability to read and understand PLC logic
  • Ability to plan and execute a written safe job plan using electrical safe work practices
  • Ability to install and set up electrical power distribution devices
  • Proficiency operating a computer
  • SAP, virtual machines and remote desktop applications, and Rockwell software suite
  • Regular attendance on site and ability to work varying or rotating shifts
  • Ability to lift, carry, or move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to bend, twist, climb ladders, and wear respirator protection
