About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead Owens & Minor’s Surgical Product Division, including drapes and gowns, sterilization, general surgical products, and kitting
- Own divisional P&L, market strategy, product portfolio, pricing, commercial execution, and operating discipline
- Drive top-line growth, margin expansion, portfolio lifecycle management, customer-centric market strategy, and below-the-line impact excluding manufacturing costs
- Serve as the key business and commercial thought leader for the division and report to the Chief Operating Officer
- Manage the business to meet top-line objectives while holding P&L accountability for multiple lines of business
- Design and execute commercial strategy and prioritize markets, products, and services based on growth and profitability
- Increase wallet share with existing customers and enter priority markets and channels
- Lead portfolio and lifecycle management, new product introductions, SKU rationalization, brand positioning, and margin expansion across domestic and global markets
- Oversee market development, geographic expansion, market investment decisions, and M&A opportunity assessment
- Direct Sales, Product Management, Marketing Services, E-Commerce, and Pricing & Contracting teams across direct, distributor, and online channels
- Enhance commercial capabilities through customer segmentation, customer journey insights, voice-of-customer discipline, and pricing, contracting, rebate, and chargeback strategies
- Partner with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance, R&D, Regulatory, Strategic Sourcing, Value Engineering, and other teams
- Represent the business to internal and external stakeholders and co-manage relationships with government agencies, customers, and distributors
- Navigate complex regulatory environments
- Establish product governance, decision rights, RACI discipline, stage gates, initiative management, review cadence, and trusted common data/KPIs
- Align teams to business strategy and model leadership commitment to quality and environmental management systems
- Perform additional duties as directed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree required; concentration in Sales & Marketing, Business, Supply Chain Management, Healthcare, or a related discipline preferred
- Graduate degree in a relevant field preferred
- 15 or more years of commercial healthcare experience, including supply chain, pharmacy, healthcare products or services, business-to-business sales, account management, or related fields
- Proven success leading direct or indirect diversified commercial teams, including sales, marketing, planning, communication, organization, and people leadership
- Experience launching product categories in domestic and global markets
- Understanding of QA/RA issues within the healthcare sector
- Market development success in medical device, healthcare products, pharmaceutical, or a related industry, including opening new market opportunities
- Regional breadth and a record of growing businesses across multiple markets
- Market knowledge and cultural affinity outside of home country
- Strong sales and marketing capabilities, with ability to drive sales execution and effectiveness with strategic marketing support
- Demonstrated financial literacy, including P&L fluency, profitability analysis, scenario planning, and trade-off decision-making
- Senior leadership experience in a matrixed structure
- Ability to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally
