About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own end-to-end delivery of multi-site capital programs from business case through commissioning and handoff to site operations
- Lead new-site stand-ups, retrofits, and expansions across the distribution center network
- Set plans, sequence work, and hold vendors and internal teams accountable to dates
- Manage program CapEx and cost-reduction targets; track spend and flag variances
- Lead commissioning of conveyors, sortation, robotics, and other automation equipment
- Define acceptance criteria and sign off on readiness
- Resolve design, integration, and schedule conflicts with engineering, operations, IT, and vendors
- Write standard work for sites after go-live
- Serve as point of contact for hospitals regarding delivery, storeroom organization, and inventory management issues
- Identify root causes with distribution center operations managers and fix processes
- Visit hospitals to review storeroom organization, inventory practices, and shipment readiness
- Guide hospital supply chain staff and communicate changes affecting them
- Feed hospital insights into distribution center and program design
- Maintain records of customer issues, resolutions, and program milestones
- Build dashboards and reports showing trends and repeat problems
- Report status, blockers, options, and requests to senior leadership
- Travel approximately 50% to active sites and hospitals, including manufacturing and logistics environments
Requirements
What you’ll need- 8+ years in program management, engineering, or operations
- At least 3 years running capital programs
- Proven delivery of multi-site deployments on schedule and on budget
- Direct experience commissioning material handling or automation systems
- Operations management experience in a high-volume warehouse or distribution center
- Track record managing programs of $[X]M or more in CapEx
- Strong analytical and root cause skills
- Ability to build business cases and track the numbers
- Skill with data and workflow tools
- Ability to build dashboards
- Strong communication skills with hospital staff and distribution center operations leaders
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain, business, or a related field; equivalent experience considered
- Experience in healthcare materials management or distribution preferred
