About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Review construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and related project documentation
- Develop detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for civil construction scopes associated with EV charging infrastructure projects
- Prepare comprehensive and competitive project proposals and bid documentation
- Evaluate project requirements and identify scope gaps, constructability concerns, and project risks
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, operations teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients throughout the estimating process
- Develop labor, equipment, material, and subcontractor pricing
- Utilize unit-pricing databases and cost-estimating methodologies, including RSMeans, PlanSwift, and other industry-standard resources
- Maintain accurate estimating records and historical cost databases
- Support value engineering efforts and recommend cost-saving alternatives
- Monitor industry trends, material pricing, construction practices, and regulatory changes
- Participate in daily team meetings and maintain regular communication with project stakeholders
- Manage multiple estimates simultaneously while meeting proposal deadlines
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3-5 years of experience working on civil projects
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel
- Previous experience working with RSMeans and PlanSwift
- CAD experience is a plus
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
- Ability to participate in daily virtual meetings
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced commercial construction environment
