About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the General Manager in overseeing day-to-day hotel operations
- Ensure guest satisfaction, operational efficiency, sanitation, cleanliness, and team performance
- Manage leadership across front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, and maintenance
- Control operating expenses, labor costs, budgets, forecasts, and profitability
- Complete monthly and quarterly budget and P&L reviews
- Review invoices, direct billing, collections, payments, and reconciliations
- Serve as direct report and first point of contact for department leadership
- Assist with hotel goals, property improvements, and capital expenditure suggestions
- Inspect property presentation and participate in management and department meetings
- Communicate with the home office and fill in for the General Manager when absent
- Assist department managers with recruiting, hiring, training, coaching, development, and performance evaluations
- Investigate employee relations and safety issues and support return-to-work processes
- Review schedules and complete payroll in compliance with labor laws
- Anticipate guest needs, enhance guest experiences, and resolve complaints
- Monitor guest feedback and implement service improvements
- Complete daily activity logs and communicate shift information
- Adhere to attendance policies and perform other assigned duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Two- or four-year college degree preferred
- At least three years of progressive experience in a hotel or related hospitality field
- Prior General Manager experience preferred
- Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit
- Must have a valid driver's license and meet company driving standards
- Must have strong computer skills
- Must have excellent organization and time management skills
- Must be able to work long hours, including nights, evenings, and weekends
- Occasional overnight travel required
- Must be able to perform specified grasping, manipulation, repetitive hand and arm movements, squeezing, and overhead reaching
- Must be able to work indoors or outside and stand throughout the day
- Must be able to frequently lift up to 20 lbs and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs with assistance
- Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, walk on uneven surfaces, and climb stairs occasionally
- Must be able to work outside in rain, wind, snow, and heat
- Successful completion of pre-employment screening required
