About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Generate new business and grow existing corporate, group, government, and other key market accounts
- Lead direct sales efforts and achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual room revenue goals
- Maintain prospecting efforts and pipeline; follow up on leads and uncover new opportunities
- Develop and maintain client relationships and partnerships in the Seattle market
- Conduct inbound and outbound sales calls, client entertainment, networking, and occasional trade-show representation
- Participate in weekly sales and revenue calls
- Mentor, coach, train, and manage sales team performance
- Assist with account deployment, comp shops, rate reviews, hiring, employee relations, and performance reviews
- Develop the annual selling plan with Sales and Marketing leadership
- Analyze revenue reports, forecasts, STAR reports, rates, sales data, and group bookings
- Negotiate room rates and function-space commitments using yield-management techniques
- Review RFPs and rate agreements and support revenue-management programs
- Communicate with hotel staff and home-office teams to coordinate services and revenue opportunities
- Oversee the Sales Coordinator if assigned and assist the General Manager with reports and special projects
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong hotel sales experience and understanding of the Seattle market
- 5+ years Sales experience preferred
- Hospitality Experience preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office products
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
- Valid driver license and proof of insurance
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Regular and reliable attendance
- Ability to travel
- Ability to perform the listed physical requirements, including lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally
