About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the Platform team responsible for the Observability/Data area and maintain consistent delivery
  • Hire, mentor, and develop engineers while keeping the team healthy and performing
  • Manage capacity, risk, and dependencies; plan realistically, remove blockers, and handle escalations early
  • Align scope and priorities with the Director of Infrastructure and keep stakeholders aligned
  • Remain hands-on as a working Tech Lead alongside management
  • Solve complex challenges and maintain infrastructure handling 60PB+ monthly data traffic
  • Influence DevOps practices and tooling choices
  • Improve engineering capabilities through code-first processes and AI-powered tooling

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proven experience leading an engineering team under one of the following roles: Team Lead, Squad Lead, or Tech Lead
  • Strong stakeholder management skills; ability to translate business needs into a clear plan and keep people aligned
  • Pragmatic, ownership-driven mindset; ability to make trade-offs, push standards, and improve reliability without slowing the team down
  • Hands-on experience with technologies such as MySQL, Kafka/Redpanda, Redis/Valkey, ClickHouse, VictoriaMetrics, Elasticsearch, Grafana, Prometheus, or similar
  • Willingness and ability to remain hands-on as a working Tech Lead
  • Experience managing a team of approximately 2–3 engineers
