About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Promote and sell Pace Analytical services within an assigned territory
  • Increase market share through new business growth and increase wallet share of existing customers
  • Visit customer establishments to evaluate needs and promote services
  • Maintain customer records using automated systems
  • Negotiate prices and terms of sales or service agreements; quote prices, credit terms, and bid specifications
  • Contact prospective and existing customers to explain how products and services meet their needs
  • Provide analysis, interpretation, and counsel regarding sales policies, programs, and practices
  • Develop recommendations on product and service features based on customer needs and technical knowledge
  • Receive customer feedback and coordinate resources and responses
  • Analyze sales operations, results, feedback, and related information to identify trends and present findings, proposals, and recommendations
  • Audit sales and operational databases and reports; resolve discrepancies with relevant teams
  • Assist with developing sales or cross-functional project and program objectives, budgets, timelines, materials, and personnel requirements
  • Interpret and apply department policies, procedures, laws, rules, and regulations
  • Contribute to department efficiency and effectiveness as a work-team member
  • Promote Pace Analytical's mission through courteous and cooperative interactions with customers and staff
  • Work in an office setting and travel as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in business, chemistry, operations, or a closely related field; and two (2) years of customer support experience, including experience with complex programs or operations; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Intermediate to complex principles, practices, and techniques of sales effectiveness
  • Understanding of sales programs, policies, procedures, applicable laws, codes, and regulations
  • Methods to resolve sales and customer problems, questions, and concerns
  • Understanding of testing tools, equipment, and processing
  • Computer applications and systems related to the work
  • Principles and practices for serving as an effective project team member
  • Correct business English, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation
  • Ability to perform intermediate to complex professional-level sales duties
  • Ability to oversee and administer sales functions
  • Ability to train others in relevant policies and procedures
  • Ability to serve as a team member and develop and manage projects
  • Ability to operate in team and individual-contributor environments
  • Ability to interpret, apply, and explain applicable laws, codes, and regulations
  • Ability to prepare intermediate to complex account reports, correspondence, and other written materials
