About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the financial control environment across Pacific Smiles Group's branded dental network
- Maintain the completeness, accuracy and integrity of the general ledger
- Oversee balance sheet reconciliations to subsidiary ledgers and supporting documentation
- Ensure bank transactions are posted and reconciled, resolving discrepancies
- Manage electronic banking software and fixed asset registers
- Own Group taxation accounting requirements
- Lead group consolidation, intercompany eliminations and reconciliations across existing entities and acquisitions
- Own acquisition accounting under AASB 3 and support purchase price allocations
- Lead finance improvement projects and broader organisational initiatives
- Report monthly on cash management performance
- Forecast short- and long-term Group cash flow requirements
- Support recovery of debtor balances within credit terms
- Manage debt facilities within covenant requirements
- Ensure Group tax obligations are calculated correctly and paid on time
- Oversee half-year and annual financial reports
- Lead relationships with external auditors and coordinate audits end to end
- Own ASIC statutory lodgements across Beam group entities
- Support ad hoc financial reporting requests
- Identify, assess and manage financial risks
- Maintain compliance with internal controls, policies and external regulations
- Report financial governance compliance to the CFO and relevant committees, including the ARMC
- Deliver the financial internal audit plan and remediate control gaps
- Create, review and implement financial policies and procedures
- Govern the Pronto ERP system, chart of accounts and system controls across Group entities
- Lead financial systems onboarding for new entities into Pronto
- Coordinate with IT on finance system issues, upgrades and integrations
- Ensure team engagement and aligned responsibilities
- Allocate tasks equitably and monitor performance
- Develop team capability, identify talent and build succession depth
Requirements
What you’ll need- Tertiary qualifications in accounting with CA or CPA
- 8–10+ years' relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience in a senior financial accounting or controller role
- Experience in a multi-entity or private equity-backed environment
- Strong technical knowledge of AASB accounting standards, including consolidation, financial instrument recognition and statutory reporting
- Strong knowledge of accounting and finance regulatory, compliance and reporting requirements
- Experience managing finance teams in a complex, multi-entity or compliance-intensive environment with an M&A growth strategy
- Track record of building collaborative, outcomes-focused relationships across diverse teams
- Self-motivated approach with a focus on continuous improvement
- Excellent Excel and financial systems skills
- Big 4 or mid-tier public practice background (bonus)
- Power BI or other data visualisation tools experience (bonus)
- Experience using Pronto ERP or a comparable mid-market ERP in a multi-entity environment (bonus)
- CA or CPA qualification
- Blue Card required for paid employment in Dental in QLD
