About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Investigate and resolve large-loss, complex homeowner property claims across multiple state jurisdictions
- Adjust major and complex losses in their entirety, and sometimes standard/moderate complexity losses
- Complete thorough and proper claim investigations
- Present file information and investigation status to senior leadership during round-table file discussions
- Document investigative activity and secure appropriate claim documentation in claims and document management systems
- Develop and maintain file summaries and action plans throughout the life of each claim
- Submit complex authority requests and manage file expenses
- Handle incoming calls in real time when possible and return messages promptly
- Ensure compliance with state insurance regulations and company Claims Handling Guidelines
- Perform other duties assigned by the manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- Prior large loss to moderate complexity insurance claims experience required
- Prior customer service work experience required
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Ability to make timely and accurate decisions
- Ability to work independently with minimal management oversight
- Strong negotiation skills
- Comfortable working in a highly productive, team-oriented environment
- Maintain an active adjuster's license in states where required
- College degree and/or bilingual in Spanish a plus
- Must be able to work Pacific Time business hours
- Must reside and work outside of California
- Critical thinking skills to solve problems
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Adaptability to changing situations
- Ability to sit for extended periods, walk short distances, operate a keyboard and mouse, and talk on the phone
