About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive sales efforts in the designated Texas territory by implementing sales and marketing strategies for PackGene’s products and services
  • Work with technical support, project management, and production teams to achieve territory sales goals
  • Generate new business across industrial, academic, and government segments and expand the customer base
  • Conduct direct customer visits and manage projects
  • Manage administrative work, sales pipelines, and opportunity closing
  • Understand customers’ research applications and pain points and match PackGene’s products and services to their needs
  • Share market intelligence with Technical Support and Marketing through weekly field feedback reports
  • Attend customer visits, conferences, and vendor shows while building customer relationships and achieving quota
  • Drive business expansion with technical support and project management teams
  • Build and expand a business reference network to develop new opportunities
  • Identify market trends, assess market potential, and develop strategies
  • Provide timely customer support and coordinate internal resources
  • Lead webinars and innovation meetings
  • Travel extensively by airplane and automobile for business

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master’s degree or above in scientific disciplines, majoring in life science
  • 1–5 years of relevant sales experience
  • High level of technical and professional expertise
  • Knowledge of the biological and CRO or CDMO market or general biotech industry preferred
  • Ability to manage sales pipelines and accurately forecast sales weekly within the territory
  • Strong analytical and time management skills
  • Public speaking and presentation skills
  • Action- and execution-oriented; able to work independently
  • High interpersonal savvy, organizational agility, and managerial courage
  • Ability to work across regions and multiple functions
  • Proven track record identifying market trends and establishing action plans that capitalize on trends to deliver sales
  • Sales-driven and results-oriented, with enthusiasm, creativity, and an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Ability to multitask and manage resources to maximize territory performance
  • Willingness to travel extensively (40%+)
  • Ability to communicate orally with customers, management, and coworkers individually and in groups
  • Regular use of telephone and email
  • Good manual dexterity for common office equipment
  • Visual and hearing abilities within normal ranges, with or without correction
