About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide direct nursing care to residents
  • Supervise day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants
  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered
  • Monitor resident conditions and report changes to physicians, supervisors, and families
  • Assist with care planning, assessments, discharge planning, and MDS/RAPs/Triggers
  • Complete nursing documentation, charts, reports, forms, and incident records
  • Admit, transfer, and discharge residents
  • Coordinate nursing services with physicians, healthcare teams, social services, activities, dietary, and other departments
  • Provide leadership, assignments, supervision, evaluations, orientation, and training for nursing personnel
  • Maintain medication, supplies, equipment, infection control, safety, sanitation, and quality assurance standards
  • Participate in facility inspections, in-service training, continuing education, and emergency procedures
  • Perform nursing procedures including catheterization, tube feedings, suction, wound dressing changes, specimen collection, vital signs, and restorative care
  • Maintain resident confidentiality, information-system security, and compliance with facility policies and regulations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Current, unencumbered, active South Carolina LPN/LVN license
  • Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university, or graduation from an approved LPN/LVN program
  • Current CPR certification
  • Must maintain required continuing education/licensing
  • Must remain in good standing with the State Board of Nursing
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Knowledge of nursing and medical practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines for nursing care facilities
  • Leadership and supervisory ability
  • Ability to make independent decisions
  • Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret nursing programs, policies, and procedures
  • Knowledge and experience with PCC preferred
  • Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, move, or carry at least 25 pounds for 50 feet
  • Must meet facility health requirements, including medical and physical examination
  • Long-term care experience preferred, but not required
