About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide support and training to MDS Coordinators to ensure proper assessment and treatment of nursing home residents in accordance with state and federal standards
- Conduct monthly Regional MDS meetings for training and CMI development
- Assist facilities with clinical, MDS, dietary, social services, and regulatory policies and related education
- Monitor and assist with RAC audits from Insurance, State, or CMS
- Develop regional tracking and trending reports for clinical metrics regarding CMS 5-star rating
- Assist facilities in improving 5-star ratings in all categories
- Provide oversight and direction to the MDS department and regional MDS staff
- Conduct facility visits to assess and train clinical staff
- Create action plans to facilitate growth and development
- Attend regional meetings and provide clinical insight as requested by the RVP
- Assist facilities with clinical risk management efforts
- Assist facility defense attorneys with lawsuits, depositions, reports, and document production as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent Accredited Nursing Program Degree
- Professional License must remain active and in good standing at all times with the State Board of Nursing
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite products
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Prolonged use of a desktop or laptop computer
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, read, or hear
- Frequent use of office-related equipment, including copier/scanner/fax, telephone, and calculator
