About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work under the guidance of the Clinical Manager and with the Registered Nurse to ensure residents receive high-quality care
- Coordinate and supervise resident care as required by the Registered Nurse and in line with policies and procedures
- Deliver person-centred clinical care and maintain accurate documentation
- Support and guide Personal Care Assistants
- Participate in resident admissions and assessments under Registered Nurse guidance
- Administer medications safely and in accordance with legislation
- Complete wound care and other specialised nursing care
- Assist with developing, implementing, and evaluating individualised care plans
- Collaborate with allied health professionals and families to support holistic care
- Ensure compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards, Aged Care Charter of Rights, and infection control practices
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits
- Attend clinical and team meetings
- Report incidents, changes in residents’ conditions, and care deficiencies to the Registered Nurse
Requirements
What you’ll need- Diploma of Nursing with current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse
- Current National Police Check
- Demonstrated understanding of the Aged Care Quality Standards
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with residents, families, and staff
- Initiative, problem-solving ability, and accountability for actions taken
- Ability to identify and escalate changes in residents’ conditions
- Commitment to compassionate, respectful, and person-centred care
- Positive and proactive attitude toward continuous learning and improvement
- Previous experience in aged care is advantageous
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently
- All applicants must provide a valid national police check and undergo a pre-employment medical assessment
- Current “C” Class driver’s licence (optional)
